Dusk is my favorite time of the day. I first realized this while I was in India. A time of day where everything stands still, the sun slowly creeps away and every last object that casts a shadow looks like it’s meant to be there. Everything is perfect. Every single moment is surreal. Kind of how I would describe being in a foreign land. Being in India. Now as I’m back home, going on runs on an empty beach at sunset. I get that same feeling as the day sky turns to dusk. All the way across the world. Same day, same sun and moon, same dusk.
An important person said something along these lines to me before a significant journey. “Nothing good is ever easy.”
“Maybe there’s something you’re afraid to say, or someone you’re afraid to love, or somewhere you’re afraid to go. It’s gonna hurt. It’s gonna hurt because it matters.” - John Green
